Salient Software Solution Ltd, a Firmtec Global Group company, is building the future of embedded finance and ecommerce hybrid systems in Africa through innovation and technology. A seamless API-driven digital payment embedded across platforms for instalment and getting anything easily financed.

As we scale across regions and platforms, we are seeking a dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead operational strategy and execution as we scale.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the design, implementation, and refinement of operational systems, business processes, and organizational policies.
  2. Drive cross-functional collaboration and execution, ensuring all departments are aligned with company OKRs and timelines.
  3. Oversee performance metrics, resource allocation, operational reporting, and departmental accountability.
  4. Identify and eliminate bottlenecks across delivery pipelines—from product development to customer success.
  5. Champion SOP development across departments to ensure operational efficiency, consistency, and scale-readiness.
  6. Collaborate closely with product, marketing, and finance leads to ensure integrated and timely execution.
  7. Lead business continuity planning and ensure agile responses to operational risks or disruptions.
  8. Support recruitment, onboarding, and culture-building initiatives, ensuring high performance and strong alignment with company values.

Background & Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in operation roles, ideally within a fintech, tech startup, or high-growth enterprise.
  2. Proven success in scaling operations across multiple departments and teams.
  3. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Sales or a related field; MBA is a strong advantage.
  4. Strong familiarity with agile methodologies, OKR frameworks, and process design tools.
  5. Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and nurturing high-performing teams.
  6. Experience working across distributed teams and hybrid work environments.
  7. Prior exposure to regulatory operations in fintech or payments (CBN, NDPR, KYC/AML) is an added advantage.

Preferred Skills & Attributes

  1. Start-up or scale-up experience with the ability to build from 0 to 1 and scale from 1 to 100.
  2. Advanced operational planning, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.
  3. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Notion, Trello, Jira) and collaboration suites (e.g., Slack, Asana).
  4. Strategic thinker with an obsession for execution and operational excellence.
  5. Strong emotional intelligence, resilience, and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
