Salient Software Solution Ltd, a Firmtec Global Group company, is building the future of embedded finance and ecommerce hybrid systems in Africa through innovation and technology. A seamless API-driven digital payment embedded across platforms for instalment and getting anything easily financed.
As we scale across regions and platforms, we are seeking a dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead operational strategy and execution as we scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and refinement of operational systems, business processes, and organizational policies.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and execution, ensuring all departments are aligned with company OKRs and timelines.
- Oversee performance metrics, resource allocation, operational reporting, and departmental accountability.
- Identify and eliminate bottlenecks across delivery pipelines—from product development to customer success.
- Champion SOP development across departments to ensure operational efficiency, consistency, and scale-readiness.
- Collaborate closely with product, marketing, and finance leads to ensure integrated and timely execution.
- Lead business continuity planning and ensure agile responses to operational risks or disruptions.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and culture-building initiatives, ensuring high performance and strong alignment with company values.
Background & Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in operation roles, ideally within a fintech, tech startup, or high-growth enterprise.
- Proven success in scaling operations across multiple departments and teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Sales or a related field; MBA is a strong advantage.
- Strong familiarity with agile methodologies, OKR frameworks, and process design tools.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and nurturing high-performing teams.
- Experience working across distributed teams and hybrid work environments.
- Prior exposure to regulatory operations in fintech or payments (CBN, NDPR, KYC/AML) is an added advantage.

- Start-up or scale-up experience with the ability to build from 0 to 1 and scale from 1 to 100.
- Advanced operational planning, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Notion, Trello, Jira) and collaboration suites (e.g., Slack, Asana).
- Strategic thinker with an obsession for execution and operational excellence.
- Strong emotional intelligence, resilience, and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
